RU women and men fall

Fred Hill promises the NCAA tournament for next year. Vivian Stringer's ladies probably face a similar situation. Hill must be kidding. Stringer suddenly has lost the magic. Bad year on the Banks.

SAD story at RU

Gregory Echineque is leaving Rutgers. Why? Probably because he's sick of losing, probably because he doesn't think Fred Hill knows what he is doing, and probably because Dan Hurley egged him on.

Blame this mess on Bob Mulcahy. He's the one who fired Gary Waters. All Waters did was have mostly winning seasons. Was Waters fantastic? No, but he was a helluva lot better than Fred Hill.

Rutgers (horrible) Basketball

West VA blows out Rutgers by over 30 points. How bad is Rutgers? Well, put it this way, no one seems to be saying, "oh, hell, we have to play Rutgers."

RU Basketball

Close is great for horseshoes and hand grenades. In sports, who cares? North Carolina pretty much had its way with RU last night. The Knights did make it close at the end, but a loss is a loss. Are they better than last year? Yes! Is that good enough? No!

Christmas Day

More Bowl games. It's boring, it proves nothing except the guys in white, or blue or red are better than the other guys in blue, white or red. Back in the DAY there were 4 or 5 bowls, and they meant something. Today, it's a joke. Fifty teams are in bowls. Hell, there are only 110 teams in Div One. You gotta be really lousy if you don't get invited.

RU at Christmas

The basketball team now enters the real season. It was nice to have all those softies, and the team did seem to get better. BUT, they were big time softies, and the margins of victory were very small except for the St. Peter's game. They probably won't win 3 more games.

As for football, it would be nice to have a quality win over a big time opponent. The wins look great until you look at who we beat and who beat us over the years.

As for the Women's team, there won't be a Final Four this year!
